Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated DK Shivakumar on taking oath as the chief minister of Karnataka.
Karnataka witnessed a significant leadership transition as DK Shivakumar was sworn in as Chief Minister at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru. Alongside him, G. Parameshwara took the oath as Deputy Chief Minister, while twelve other legislators were inducted into the state cabinet.
The government is seeking to reclaim land near the Prime Minister's residence from the Delhi Gymkhana, Delhi Race Club, Jaipur Polo Ground and nearby slum clusters.
In a major political twist, rebel TMC MLAs backed Ritabrata Banerjee, who has been expelled for anti-party activities, as the leader of the legislature party and conveyed their decision to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker.
