BJP worker shot in Bihar during party event; PM Modi remembers 'dark days of Emergency'; more

A BJP worker was injured after shots were fired during a party event in Murliganj in Bihar's Madhepura district on Sunday. The accused, Pankaj Patel, was arrested after he fired several rounds. The shots were fired as a result of an altercation between the group of the accused and the injured, identified as Sanjay Bhagat, who was shot in the leg.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the anniversary of the 1975 Emergency, called it "dark days" and said its imposition by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi will "remain an unforgettable period in our history, totally opposite to the values our Constitution celebrates".
