Suvendu Adhikari to retain Bhabanipur seat, vacate Nandigram

Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has decided to retain the Bhabanipur assembly constituency while vacating the Nandigram seat. Following the recent assembly elections, the Chief Minister emerged victorious in both constituencies, including a highly contested and crucial battle in Bhabanipur against  TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. According to legislative protocol, an elected representative cannot hold two assembly seats simultaneously and must resign from one. Consequently, after taking the oath as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Bhabanipur, the Chief Minister confirmed the resignation from the Nandigram constituency.
