Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief Iqbal Chahal said on Tuesday that the night curfew and other curbs have imposed in Mumbai beacuse of people flouting norms and not over new UK Covid strain. He said that residents have been warned and asked to take precaution, otherwise, action will be taken against violators.
The Maharashtra government has decided to enforce night curfews across major cities in the state to prevent another wave of coronavirus infections. As per the guidelines, no more than five people will be allowed to gather at one point once the night curfew is in place. This night curfew will be enforced between 11 pm and 6 am from December 22 till January 5.
