Midnight drama in Lucknow: Unnao rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar shows up but doesn't surrender

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Sengar, accused in the Unnao rape case said that the rape charges against him were fake. He said that he was open to any kind of investigation into the case.

Moments before meeting Lucknow SSP, MLA Sengar spoke exclusively to India Today. He said that he was being framed and that the charges against him were fabricated. When asked about the probe report, he said that he was unaware of the contents of the report.

Sources said that BJP president Amit Shah, who is overlooking the matter, has taken the Uttar Pradesh party leadership to task over the rape case that has jolted the nation, more so because the victims father died in police custody day before.

The district administration had yesterday shifted the victim and her family from their village Makhee to a hotel in Unnao city after they claimed threat to their lives from the MLA and his aides.
