NDA delegation in Karur, seeks probe into stampede that killed 41 people

An eight-member NDA delegation, led by Member of Parliament Hema Malini, is in Karur, Tamil Nadu, to investigate a stampede that killed 41 people. The incident occurred at a rally organized by TVK chief Vijay. The delegation's purpose is to gather facts from officials and local people for a report to be submitted to their National President. They will also meet with and offer condolences to the families of the deceased and visit those hospitalized. An unidentified member of the delegation stated their goal is to ensure accountability and prevent future tragedies, saying, "Lessons to be learned from this, who is at fault, what went wrong, so we are here for a serious purpose." The delegation consists of members from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha who traveled from various states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Odisha, to conduct the inquiry.
