Karnataka withdraws 2022 uniform order

'Nehru ji thought Indians are lazy, less intelligent': PM Modi in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Jawaharlal Nehru thought Indians to be lazy and have less intelligence. He also attacked former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her remark that Indians run away from difficulties.
Responding to the debate in Lok Sabha on the Motion of Thanks on President's Address, PM Modi said, "Let me read what Prime Minister Nehru had said from Red Fort. Indians generally do not have the habit of working very hard, we do not work as much as the people of Europe or Japan or China or Russia or America. It means that Nehru ji thought that Indians are lazy and less intelligent."
PM Modi said Indira Gandhi's thinking was also no different from Nehru and mentioned a quote that the former PM said from the ramparts of Red Fort on Independence Day.
