Pakistan violates ceasefire in J-K's Poonch, security forces retaliate

Pakistani forces violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 4, officials said.

Pakistan troops targeted forward posts and villages along the LoC in Shahpur sector and the exchange of fire between the two sides was on when reports last came in, a police official said.

A defence spokesman said Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars around 11.10am. The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively, he said.
