Parties of similar ideology should come together in UP against BJP: Shivpal Yadav

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) chief Shivpal Yadav on Friday said it was time for the Opposition parties to unite for the assembly election against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking at Panchayat Aaj Tak, Shivpal Yadav said, "People and parties of similar ideology, people with secular ideology should come together in Uttar Pradesh."

Asked whether chacha (uncle) Shivpal Yadav will support bhatija (nephew) Akhilesh Yadav in the next year's Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, he said, "Chacha shabd mein aatmiyata hai, kaun nahin chahega ashirvaad dena (the word uncle is very intimate, who would not like to bless his nephew)."
