Punjab mining scam? Contract worth Rs 26 crore for mantri's cook

A minister's cook with a salary of just a few thousand rupees who is bagging a mining contract worth Rs 26 crore, is now being questioned.

The cook identified as Amit Bahadur, was formally employed with the Punjab Power Minister Rana Gurjit.

The Punjab government has held an auction of 89 mining spots worth Rs 1000 crore earlier this month and there were several participants in the online auction that were found to be bogus for the influential mining mafia.

Three employees of the also allegedly received mining contracts. Among them is the cook Amit Bahadur.
