Rumours of lockdown completely false, no such proposal: Hardeep Singh Puri

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri has dismissed rumours of an impending lockdown in India as completely false, stating there is no such proposal under consideration by the Government of India. He emphasised the need to remain calm, responsible and united, calling attempts to spread rumours and create panic irresponsible and harmful. Puri reassured that in the face of global uncertainties, the government is acting in a timely and coordinated manner, and that supplies of fuel, energy and critical supplies remain stable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet Chief Ministers at 6.30 pm to discuss five specific agendas related to energy security, barring states heading for elections. The meeting comes amid concerns over LPG cylinder supply and the impact of the West Asia conflict, despite India not being directly involved and calling for an end to hostilities.
