Several states say no jabs to start Phase 3 Covid-19 vaccination drive


The ambitious Phase 3 vaccination drive in the country amid the raging second wave of Covid-19 across states is most likely to hit on May 1 when it is scheduled to begin with vaccination for all adults above 18 years.

Several state governments have said they won't be able to start the vaccination drive for all adults from May 1 due to a shortage in vaccine doses. Those states are Delhi, Bihar, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra, even Uttar Pradesh also said no stock for phase 3 vaccination.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
