Man jumps into massive cauldron inside Ajmer Sharif dargah, chaos follows
A man climbed into a ceremonial 'deg' at Ajmer Sharif Dargah as devotees watched in panic. The incident briefly disrupted movement at the shrine and drew sharp reactions online.

A strange incident at the famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah caused panic among devotees after a young man reportedly jumped into the shrine’s massive ceremonial cauldron, known as ‘Badi Deg’, allegedly to collect money kept inside it.
According to eyewitnesses, the man suddenly climbed into the large metal cauldron located inside the dargah complex, leaving visitors and caretakers shocked. The Deg is traditionally used for preparing food offerings at the shrine and often contains money and donations offered by devotees.
As people gathered around the area, several khadims, or caretakers of the shrine, repeatedly asked the man to come out. However, he allegedly refused to listen despite continuous appeals from both the staff and devotees present there.
The situation soon turned chaotic as a crowd began forming around the cauldron inside the shrine premises. Videos from the scene, now widely circulating on social media, show the man sitting inside the Deg while people around him shout instructions and urge him to step out safely.

When attempts to convince him failed, one of the khadims eventually climbed into the cauldron himself in order to pull the man out. After some effort, the caretaker managed to safely remove him from the structure.
The man was later handed over to the police following the incident.
The unusual episode quickly drew attention online, with the viral video triggering reactions ranging from shock to disbelief. Many users questioned why the man entered the cauldron in the first place, while others praised the khadim who stepped in to prevent the situation from worsening.
The incident also briefly disrupted normal movement inside the dargah as curious onlookers crowded around the area after the video began spreading online.
The Ajmer Sharif Dargah, dedicated to Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti, remains one of India’s most visited spiritual sites and attracts thousands of devotees every day.
