US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accompanied by his wife, visited the Taj Mahal in Agra and the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur amid official engagements in India. During the visit to the marble mausoleum, the couple signed the visitors book, describing the monument as one of the true treasures of the world. In Jaipur, they were received by the Deputy Chief Minister, who belongs to the erstwhile royal family. These visits took place despite the intense summer heat. The sightseeing tour occurred ahead of the upcoming Quad Summit, where India is set to host foreign ministers from the United States, Australia, and Japan. The summit will focus on the Indo-Pacific security landscape and rising tensions across West Asia. Prior to these visits, the US Secretary of State held bilateral meetings and met with the Indian Prime Minister.
