US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Tehran, claiming Iranians are 'only alive today to negotiate' and accusing them of 'short-term extortion' via the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was accorded the highest honour by the Indian government at Rashtrapati Bhawan where he also met Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the first Presidential visit since 2003 although it is President Rouhani's second visit.
Rouhani, who addressed a large congregation of Muslims at the historic Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad on Friday, is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with Modi wherein connectivity and transit, energy and trade, and cultural and security matters will be discussed.
