Women won't forgive those who oppose women reservation: PM Modi warns Opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the Opposition not to give political colour to the women's reservation bill and warned that women won't forgive those who oppose the proposed 33 percent reservation for women. 

During a parliamentary address, PM Modi emphasised that the proposed 33 percent reservation for women is a decision for the nation's democratic progress rather than for any single party's political gain. He said the credit for this historic move belongs to the collective decision-making power of the house, not just the treasury benches or the leadership. The speaker warned that opposing the women's quota would result in a heavy political price, noting that women at the grassroots level, particularly in panchayats, have evolved into vocal opinion makers over the past three decades.
