Delhi traffic alert: Commuters face delays on Faiz Road-Rani Jhansi corridor till June 18
Traffic movement on the Faiz Road-Rani Jhansi Road corridor is likely to remain affected till June 18 due to ongoing 220 KV cable-laying work, prompting authorities to issue a traffic advisory.

Commuters travelling through Central Delhi may need to factor in extra travel time over the next few days. Traffic movement on the Faiz Road-Rani Jhansi Road corridor is expected to remain affected from June 8 to June 18 due to ongoing 220 KV cable-laying work being undertaken by Delhi Transco Ltd.
The work is being carried out from Faiz Road to R/A Idgah leading towards the Rani Jhansi Flyover.
Authorities have advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the affected stretch during peak traffic hours to minimise delays.
CABLE WORK TO IMPACT TRAFFIC
According to the traffic advisory, the ongoing infrastructure work involves the laying of a 220 KV cable by Delhi Transco Ltd. The project covers the stretch from Faiz Road to the Idgah roundabout leading towards the Rani Jhansi Flyover.
As a result, traffic movement in the area is likely to be slower than usual, particularly during office commute hours.
PEAK-HOUR DELAYS EXPECTED
Traffic police have warned that congestion may increase during peak hours between 8 am and 11 am and again from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Motorists using the corridor during these periods may experience delays and are encouraged to explore alternate routes wherever possible.
COMMUTERS ADVISED TO PLAN AHEAD
Authorities have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the affected stretch if alternative routes are available.
Road users have also been advised to follow traffic signage and comply with directions issued by Delhi Traffic Police personnel deployed in the area.
EMERGENCY VEHICLES TO GET PRIORITY
The advisory states that emergency vehicles will be facilitated on priority to ensure smooth movement during the construction period.
The traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place until June 18, after which normal traffic flow is likely to resume, subject to the completion of the cable-laying work.
