Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar road stretch closed for 45 days: Traffic advisory issued
Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory as a key stretch near Nawada Metro Station remains closed for nearly 45 days due to sewer line restoration work by the Delhi Jal Board.

Commuters travelling through West Delhi may face heavy traffic in the coming weeks as special traffic arrangements have been put in place near Nawada Metro Station.
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory after Delhi Jal Board started restoration work on a settled sewer line using the trenchless method.
According to the advisory, the carriageway on Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Main Road from Dwarka Mod towards Uttam Nagar, between Metro Pillar No. 722 and 723, has been closed from 10 pm on May 20, 2026.
The closure is expected to remain in place for nearly 45 days.
Traffic movement in the area is likely to remain affected during the restoration work, especially during peak office hours. Authorities have advised commuters to avoid the affected stretch and take alternate routes wherever possible.
WHAT COMMUTERS SHOULD KNOW
The closure affects one of the busy stretches connecting Dwarka Mod, Nawada and Uttam Nagar. With one side of the carriageway shut for repair work, congestion and delays are expected in nearby areas as well.
The Delhi Traffic Police has asked commuters to plan journeys in advance and keep extra travel time in mind. Motorists have also been advised to park vehicles only in designated parking areas to avoid further congestion near the work site.
WHY THE ROAD IS CLOSED
The work is being carried out by the Delhi Jal Board to restore a settled sewer line near Nawada Metro Station. \
Officials said the trenchless method is being used for the repair process, which reduces large-scale digging but still requires traffic restrictions around the site.
