Alia Bhatt's Alpha teaser draws Ballerina comparisons, fans ask 'where is Sharvari'

The teaser of Alpha, led by Alia Bhatt, has been released, with several viewers comparing it to Ballerina (2025) and others asking why Sharvari was missing from the promotional video. The film is being presented as the newest chapter in the YRF Spy Universe and is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on July 3, 2026.

The teaser introduces Alpha as a high-octane action film centred on a girl, played by Alia Bhatt, who has been raised and trained to become an elite operative by Bobby Deol's character. In the teaser, the recruits are described as the “first, fastest, and bravest”. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail, who is known for helming the series, The Railway Men.

Soon after the teaser dropped, social media was flooded with reactions. While many viewers were impressed by the scale of the film and its high-octane action sequences, several fans wondered why Sharvari was missing from the teaser.

Fans question Sharvari's absence

"Where is Sharvari(crying emoji)," wrote one user.

Others echoed the sentiment with comments such as, "Sharvari kahan hai?" and "Sharvari kidhar hai?", expressing disappointment over the actor's absence from the promotional video despite being one of the film's leads.

The teaser also sparked theories about Bobby Deol's character. One fan speculated, "Bobby Deol is the villain of this movie. We will know it in the end as a twist."

Some viewers drew comparisons between Alpha and Ballerina, the Ana de Armas-led action thriller set in the John Wick universe. "Indian version of Ballerina," read one comment, referring to the story of a highly trained female assassin seeking revenge.

However, the overall response remained largely positive. Several fans praised the teaser's action sequences and Alia Bhatt's intense screen presence.

"This is a banger honestly (fire emoji)," one user commented, while others hailed the film as a refreshing addition to the spy franchise.
