Akshay Kumar, currently seen opposite Wamiqa Gabbi in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla, has reacted to ongoing social media comparisons involving his co-star and actors Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif. The actor addressed the issue while speaking about Wamiqa’s career and individuality in the film industry.

In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay was asked about the comparisons being made online, where Wamiqa is often likened to Aishwarya Rai for her striking eyes, and her pairing with him is seen by some as a recall of his earlier chemistry with Katrina Kaif.

He said, “Her (Wamiqa’s) eyes are like Aishwarya Rai’s, but she has her own identity. She is doing things her own way. She entered the film industry after a lot of struggle. She worked in Punjabi films, and now she is working across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema, exploring every genre.”

Wamiqa has also previously reacted to such comparisons with humour. Some social media users have even referred to her as “Aishwarya’s daughter” due to the resemblance. When an influencer questioned her PR strategy behind these comparisons, she responded, “Talented aur khoobsurat bhi? Uff, thaaaank you. And baaki sab ka pata nahi, but we did try ‘Wamiqa for next President!’ approve nahi hua (Talented and beautiful too? Thank you. I don’t know about the rest, but we did try ‘Wamiqa for next President’, but that wasn’t approved).”
