Artificial intelligence has created challenges for celebrities in recent times as individuals use the technology to alter their images without consent. In a recent development, a new controversy has emerged online as actor Alia Bhatt's morphed images were used by a Pakistani clothing brand to promote its products.

Images of Alia surfaced on social media, showing her promoting the Pakistani clothing brand, WajAyesha Clothing. While sharing the AI-generated pictures of Alia in traditional attire, WajAyeshe Clothing captioned its Instagram post as, "EVEN ALIA BHATT LIKE OUR PURE SHEESHA SILK COLLECTION !! (smiling emoji) COLOR CAN BE CUSTOMIZED !! BOOK YOUR ORDER NOW !! (sic)."

A user commented, "Alia Bhatt ko pata ha brand shoot k bare (Does Alia Bhatt know about this brand shoot?) (sic)." The brand's Instagram handle replied, "Viral karein please ky unku bhi pata chal Jaye (Please make it viral so she also knows about it) (sic)."

While taking a jibe at the brand, a user commented, "She will sue you! (sic)." WajAyesha Clothing, in its response, commented, "No, she will not (sic)." A user also wrote, "This is AI I will send this to her (sic)." The brand replied, "but we have original product (sic)."

Earlier, the misuse of AI has prompted figures such as actors Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan to seek protection of their personality rights.

Personality rights are basically the legal ownership of your own identity against public use. It’s the rule that says you are the only one allowed to make money off your name, face, or voice. The attributes cannot be exploited without the individual's consent.

On the work front, Alia will next be seen in director Shiv Rawail's espionage thriller, Alpha (2026). The film is part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe and also features actors Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol.

Alia will also be seen in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2027 release, Love And War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
