Alia Bhatt shares emotional post as sister Shaheen is engaged to Ishaan Mehra

Actor Alia Bhatt's sister Shaheen announced her engagement to fitness instructor Ishaan Mehra. Alia shared her emotional reaction to the duo's relationship update on social media.

Alia shared Shaheen and Ishaan's picture on her Instagram story, and wrote, "currently weeping...(crying emojis)...(sic)."

Shaheen and Ishaan's joint Instagram post read, "We may have overdone this whole liking each other thing (sic)." In the pictures clicked from a garden, Shaheen can be seen flashing her engagement ring at the camera.

Alia commented on the post and wrote, "Spamming you with my love...(crying emojis)...(sic)." She also added heart emojis in her other comments.

Shaheen's mother, actor Soni Razdan, expressed happiness in the comment section and wrote, "Congratulations my darlings pieces of my (heart emojis) (sic)."

Alia's mother-in-law, actor Neetu Kapoor commented, "Congratulationsssss love and blessings (heart and bad omen emojis) (sic)."

Actor Ananya Panday commented, "Shaheeeeen! Soooo happy for you....(heart emojis)...all the love and joy in the world (heart and bad omen emojis)...best...(sic)." Actor Neena Gupta wrote, "Wow congratulations dear Shaheen (sic)."

Actor Shanaya Kapoor wrote, "Congratulations (sic)!!!" Designer-actor Masaba Gupta commented, "Tannnnnaaa for the win ! Congratulations guys loveee you (sic)."

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar added heart emojis to her caption: "Congos and bongos (sic)."

Shaheen is the elder daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Soni Razdan. Her younger sister Alia made her acting debut with Karan Johar's Student of the Year (2012).

Alia's last theatrical release was director Vasan Bala's Jigra (2024). She is married to actor Ranbir Kapoor and the duo will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War (2027). The couple also have a three-year-old daughter, named Raha.

Shaheen is a screenwriter and an advocate for mental health. As the founder of "Here Comes the Sun," a mental health awareness initiative, she has taken proactive steps to create a supportive community for people dealing with mental health challenges.

Shaheen's fiance Ishaan, is a sports and fitness coach, who conducts both online and offline classes.
