Supermodel Barbara Palvin and actor Dylan Sprouse are expecting their first child together. Palvin revealed the news at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14, when she appeared on the red carpet in a baby-blue gown and cradled her baby bump with both hands. The couple later confirmed the pregnancy on Instagram.

The announcement marks a new chapter in a relationship that began with a brief exchange at a party in 2017. The couple later got married in 2023. Over the years, the two have spoken publicly about their bond, their effort to stay close despite work commitments and the ways in which they support each other.

Palvin and Sprouse shared the news on Instagram through a carousel of photos. One of the images showed a sonogram in which their baby appeared to be making a "rock on" hand gesture. In another photo, the couple matched the same pose. Palvin captioned the post with three sign of the horns emojis.

How their relationship began

The couple's romance began at a party in 2017. According to People, Palvin cut in front of Sprouse as they entered the event, prompting him to call her out. She replied, "What are you, a hot-dog vendor?" Despite that exchange, the two got along. Palvin later followed Sprouse on Instagram, and he soon messaged her.

Sprouse recalled that first message in an interview with W Magazine in February 2019. "I was like, 'Hey, I don't know if you're in New York for very long, but we should hang out if you want to. Here's my number'," he said, adding, "And she didn't message me for six months."

When Sprouse travelled to China for a six-month shoot, Palvin got in touch. She then flew there for their first date.

In May 2019, she told People Now that she had known from the "first minute" they met that she wanted to be with him. They began dating in June 2018 and made their relationship Instagram official in August that year.

By November 2018, Palvin had spoken warmly about the relationship. "I feel like I found the perfect guy," she told Vogue Australia, adding, "He's very kind and gentle."

The couple got engaged privately in September 2022 and announced it in June 2023. "We didn't necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement," Sprouse told V Magazine. Palvin added, "We just want to do it on our time." They married in July 2023 in Hungary, Palvin's home country, according to People.

Sprouse later said on The Tamron Hall Show in February 2024 that he had proposed in Big Sur, California. Since their wedding, both have spoken about making time for each other.

Constant support over the years

In a February 2025 interview with People, Palvin said, "When I travel, he's there with me and we're not away from each other. When he's on set, I try to visit him. We have this rule that we're not supposed to be away from each other longer than two, three weeks."

Sprouse has also shown up for her publicly, including bringing her a bag of Shake Shack burgers after her return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2018 and cheering for her at the 2024 and 2025 shows. In 2024, People captured him shouting, "I love you, baby!" from the audience.
