Archana Puran Singh's son Aayushmaan Sethi fell victim to an online credit card scam, losing Rs 87,000. His family reacted to the internet scam as he tried to contact support and dispute the payment.

Aayushmaan Sethi, the younger son of Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi, recently fell victim to an online credit card scam, losing Rs 87,000. The incident was revealed in a recent vlog by his elder brother, Aaryamann Sethi called Aary Vlogs, after Aayushmaan received a notification about the payment from his PlayStation account, leaving the family shocked.
How Archana Puran Singh’s son fell victim to credit card scam
The episode also brought back memories of an earlier incident. Recalling it, Aaryamann said, "When we were doing recce for my song Choti Baatein, Aayushmaan received a message saying around 80,000 had been debited from his PlayStation account, which he never got back." Aayushmaan, however, said the latest case was different.
Explaining what happened, Aayushmaan said, "Someone has taken money from my credit card without my permission. They had these options for seven-day trials, promising they would charge after the seventh day. But they charged me for the entire year in one go... without asking my permission."
Aayushmaan’s father joined the conversation and said, "You are always in a hurry." Aayushmaan replied, "I wasn't in a hurry. And I was doing your job." He then added, "You guys are not dealing with this. I am dealing with this. Nobody has any expertise here - I will fix it myself," taking responsibility for handling the matter.

At one point in the vlog, Aaryamann told Parmeet, "Papa, your boy has become a man. He has been cheated." Later, Aaryamann's actor-fiance, Yogita Bihani, was seen checking on Aayushmaan and asked, "Are you crying?" He responded with a firm "No!"
Soon after, Aayushmaan was seen playing video games, prompting Aaryamann to ask, "You just lost 87,000 and you're sitting here playing games?" Aayushmaan replied, "I have no option. They said it will take them 48 hours to respond."
Was the scam linked to a free trial offer?
Aayushmaan also said he could not recall the name of the website involved. "I don't know. I cannot recall the name of it at this moment," he said, before adding, "It is not some shady website. I am using it-it is fine and useful. But they confused me regarding the seven-day free trial. First they deducted a $0 transaction, which I approved. Then after an hour, they took away 87,000 without my permission."
He then said he had been unable to reach customer support, remarking, "They are making me speak to the AI only," which left the family in stitches. Parmeet suggested another way to contact the company, saying, "They must have some email option to reach their help centre. You can do that at least," Aayushmaan added.
During the conversation, Aayushmaan said, "I have faced a similar fraud about a year ago." Reacting to this, Yogita jokingly said, "That means you are a regular customer for people who do fraud." Aayushmaan in his clarification said, "That one was not under my control, so I got the money back."
Towards the end of the vlog, Parmeet said this case was different, telling him, "Here, that is not the case. You pressed the button and gave them permission to deduct the money." The vlog captured the family’s reactions as Aayushmaan tried to deal with the alleged unauthorised charge and waited for a response.
Archana Puran Singh was last seen in the Netflix comedy, Toaster, featuring actors Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles.
