Hrithik Roshan says he's typecast as the good guy, wants more grey characters
Hrithik Roshan said he wants to play more parts like Zaffar from Luck By Chance. The remark underlined his frustration at being seen mostly as the good guy.

Hrithik Roshan has said he wants to take on a role like Zaffar from Luck By Chance, adding that filmmakers usually want him to play "the good guy." The actor shared the thought in an Instagram post, where he often gives a glimpse into his life through updates on food, workouts, travel and family.
In the post, shared with a photo from his Paris holiday, Hrithik said the answer came to him immediately when he was asked what kind of character he was looking for at this stage. He pointed to Zaffar, a brief but important part he played in Luck By Chance, as the sort of role he would like to do again.
"Just got asked what's the kind of role I'm looking for. And I surprised myself when it came to me. Remember Zaffar from luck by chance ? That's the one. I'd jump on something like that," he wrote. He then added, "But directors only wanna see me play the good guy. Sad (sic)."
Zaffar was one of the noted characters in Zoya Akhtar's 2009 film Luck By Chance. Hrithik's post drew responses from Zoya as well as the fans, who shared their own favourite performances by the actor.
"Let's get that coffee," wrote Zoya. One user wrote, "For me you’ll always be Jalaludin Mohammad AKBAR Azeemo Shaan shehanshah." Another said, "We just want to see you, playing good or bad. As a great actor, you will always attract an audience even playing an antagonist. Directors are failing in this regard. Perhaps you could direct this."
Hrithik is currently working on Krrish 4, which is under production. Along with returning to the superhero franchise as an actor, he is also set to direct the film, marking his debut behind the camera. The announcement was made last year by his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who shared a picture with him and wrote, "Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 yrs you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Adi Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings (sic)." Hirthik was last seen in YRF's War 2 alongside Jr NTR.
