I get lot of work because I'm Aamir Khan's son, says Junaid after two flops
Junaid Khan admitted that being Aamir Khan's son helped him in getting film offers despite the failure of Loveyapa and Ek Din. The actor also shared his views on nepotism, saying producers prefer actors they can market easily.

After the disappointing box office performance of Loveyapa and Ek Din, Junaid Khan has openly admitted that being Aamir Khan’s son helps him continue getting acting offers. Speaking about nepotism in Bollywood, the actor said star kids often receive more opportunities because they are already familiar faces for the audience and easier for producers to market.
In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Junaid acknowledged his privilege and said, “The word ‘nepotism’ doesn’t irritate me because it’s true. I get a lot of work because I’m Aamir Khan’s son."
The actor further explained that producers are mainly focused on selling films and therefore prefer actors with stronger recall value among audiences. Sharing his thoughts on casting in the industry, he said, “Producers have to sell their films; therefore, they will hire someone they can sell."
Junaid added that many filmmakers give more importance to marketability than to finding the actor best suited for a role. According to him, casting decisions are often driven by commercial considerations rather than only acting talent.
However, he clarified that he does not see the issue as an insider-versus-outsider debate. Instead, he believes actors should be chosen because they fit the character and story, not just because they are easier to promote.
The actor also reacted to his recent setbacks with humour and joked, “Sir, abhi 2 flops ke baad kaam mil raha hai, kaam karne dijiye na (Sir, I’m getting work after two flops, please let me continue working.)"
Reflecting on Ek Din’s performance, Junaid admitted that the team had expected the film to do better. He said he personally enjoyed the film and believed many viewers appreciated it, though it ultimately failed to connect with a larger audience.
Ek Din, which also stars Sai Pallavi, has been produced under Aamir Khan’s banner. Junaid also spoke about how Aamir reacted to the film’s underwhelming response, saying the superstar remained hopeful despite the setback.
According to Junaid, even after decades in the industry, failures still affect Aamir Khan emotionally, but he chooses to keep himself busy with work and move forward with renewed energy.
Meanwhile, Junaid Khan will next be seen in Ragini MMS 3 alongside Tamannaah Bhatia. Details about the film are still being kept under wraps.
