Actor Kiara Advani has addressed reports claiming that she asked the makers of her upcoming film Toxic to reduce her intimate scenes with co-star Yash. The speculation surfaced as the Geetu Mohandas-directed film continued to draw attention online.

The reports suggested that Kiara raised concerns after watching the film’s final cut and requested that certain portions be trimmed. They also claimed she had initially agreed to shoot a bold romantic sequence after being assured it would remain within her comfort zone, but later had second thoughts after seeing the final output.

The claims appeared in a report by Gulte, which alleged that Kiara had approached Yash and director Geetu Mohandas, requesting cuts to certain intimate scenes. Her post served as a clear denial.

Toxic release delayed

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was initially scheduled to release on June 4, 2026, but has now been postponed. Yash later confirmed that the film will no longer hit theatres on the earlier date.

In a statement, Yash said the film was complete and that the team was now aligning global distribution and partnerships. "Toxic is complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline (sic)," he said.

He also referred to the response received at CinemaCon, saying it strengthened the makers’ belief that the film should reach its “fullest potential worldwide.” He added, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been one such journey.”

Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film also features Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
