Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been named among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people this year, becoming the only Indian actor to feature on the prestigious global list.

The annual TIME 100 list, considered a benchmark of global influence, includes prominent names from across industries. This year’s line-up features personalities such as Donald Trump, Zohran Mamdani, Ben Stiller and Sundar Pichai.

Ranbir’s profile in TIME was written by actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who praised his distinctive approach to cinema. He noted that while the industry often measures success through box office numbers and popularity, Kapoor has consistently focused on enriching the emotional experience of audiences through his performances. Khurrana also highlighted his ability to internalise characters and present culturally rooted stories with authenticity.

The feature further noted how Kapoor’s work extends beyond conventional stardom, bringing Indian narratives to a global audience. His inclusion comes at a key point in his career, with upcoming projects such as Ramayana, where he is set to portray Lord Rama.

Also on the list is Vikas Khanna, recognised for his contribution to the culinary arts. His inclusion alongside global names like Ralph Lauren and Victoria Beckham reflects the growing global presence of Indian talent.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his next, Ramayana, with director Nitesh Tiwari. The actor's first look as Lord Rama was unveiled on April 2, 2026 on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The teaser depicts Rama in multiple avatars – as a king, the ideal son, a warrior, and a righteous man.

The film, releasing on Diwali 2026, also stars Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey, Kajal Aggarwal, Lara Dutta, and Sunny Deol in crucial roles.
