A legacy that defined generations

Over a career spanning more than seven decades, she built an extraordinary body of work across genres. Her collaborations with composer RD Burman remain among the most iconic in Indian cinema.
From energetic tracks like Piya Tu Ab To Aaja and Dum Maro Dum to soulful classics such as Dil Cheez Kya Hai and Chura Liya Hai Tumne, her voice defined multiple eras of Hindi film music.
