Ranveer Singh's father thanked Poonam Dhillon for backing him amid Don 3 row
A conversation between Ranveer Singh's father and Poonam Dhillon has shed new light on the Don 3 controversy. Here's what was said after the FWICE directive was withdrawn.

Actor Ranveer Singh's father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, personally reached out to veteran actor Poonam Dhillon after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) withdrew its non-cooperation directive against the actor. According to Dhillon, Bhavnani thanked her for publicly supporting Ranveer during the controversy surrounding his reported exit from Don 3.
Speaking to Variety India, Dhillon revealed that she had spoken to Ranveer's father at length after the matter began moving towards a resolution. She said the family appreciated the support shown by members of the film fraternity and had remained in touch with her to discuss developments surrounding the dispute.
What did Poonam Dhillon say about the conversation?
Dhillon, who also serves as the President of the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA), said Bhavnani expressed gratitude for the organisation's support.
"I spoke to Ranveer's father at length and we have been corresponding on WhatsApp. He thanked me for our support," she told Variety India.
According to Dhillon, Bhavnani also informed her that the family had been communicating with Excel Entertainment and maintained a positive relationship with the production house. She said he emphasised that there was no animosity from Ranveer's side and that their concerns centred on the manner in which FWICE handled the issue.
Why did CINTAA support Ranveer Singh?
Dhillon said CINTAA opposed the directive from the outset, arguing that FWICE lacked grounds to take such action against the actor.
She stated that actors have the right to make professional decisions regarding their projects and that any disagreements should be resolved between the actor and the producer. Dhillon also highlighted Ranveer's long-standing association with Excel Entertainment through films such as Gully Boy and Dil Dhadakne Do.
What is the Don 3 dispute about?
The controversy emerged after reports suggested that Ranveer had exited Don 3, with Excel Entertainment allegedly seeking compensation for pre-production expenses. The development subsequently led to FWICE issuing a non-cooperation notice against the actor.
However, the directive was withdrawn within a week. Dhillon said she had offered assistance from CINTAA but was informed that the matter was already being addressed. With the family reportedly in touch with Excel Entertainment and the directive revoked, the dispute now appears to be moving towards a resolution.
