Actor Shivaleeka Oberoi and her husband, director Abhishek Pathak, have introduced their daughter Aarika in a joint post. The announcement marked one month since her birth. They also revealed the meaning of her name.
Actor Shivaleeka Oberoi and filmmaker Abhishek Pathak have revealed the name of their daughter, a month after welcoming the child on April 19. On Tuesday, the couple shared a joint Instagram post to mark one month since her birth and also gave followers the first glimpse of the baby.
They said they have named their daughter Aarika Pathak. The couple also explained the meaning of the name.
The announcement
In the caption, Shivaleeka and Abhishek wrote, "Introducing our greatest blessing. Aarika Pathak. Born on 19.04.2026, the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, it all feels so beautifully and divinely connected — as if the universe planned it this way all along".
They explained that the name refers to the presence of Goddess Lakshmi and symbolises prosperity, grace, divine beauty, and abundance. The post included two photographs, one of which showed Aarika’s tiny hand being held by the couple.
They added, "She is everything we ever dreamed of and more. Grateful, blessed, and completely in love all over again! (sic)"
After their daughter was born, the couple shared the news on social media and called her "our little Goddess Laxmi", describing her arrival as "a blessing in its purest form".
Their journey together
Shivaleeka and Abhishek first met during the making of Khuda Haafiz in 2020. The film was directed by Abhishek and starred Shivaleeka alongside Vidyut Jammwal. They later fell in love, got engaged in July 2022, and married in a private ceremony in Goa in February 2023. Family members and close friends, including Ajay Devgn, were present at the wedding.
Abhishek had proposed to Shivaleeka in Turkey under hot air balloons.
Professional commitments
On the work front, Shivaleeka began her career as an assistant director on Kick and Housefull 3 before making her acting debut with Yeh Saali Aashiqui. She later appeared in Khuda Haafiz.
Meanwhile, Abhishek is shooting Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn. The third instalment of the franchise is described as the final chapter of the crime thriller and is scheduled to release on October 2. He has also directed Drishyam 2 and Ujda Chaman, and produced projects such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Khuda Haafiz and Section 375.
