SSR re-imagined as Lord Ram in Ramayana

The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, on Monday, reacted to the AI-generated images of him dressed as Lord Ram. Days after the teaser of Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana was unveiled, several fans reimagined SSR portraying Lord Ram in the Nitesh Tiwari directorial.

Shweta posted the AI images alongside a heartfelt message, expressing how emotional the visuals made her feel. She said that no one could have portrayed Lord Ram on screen as beautifully as her brother would have.

In her note, Shweta reflected on why seeing Sushant as Ram stirs strong emotions. She wrote, "The Ram Ji is just not another person, a character but what he stands for are the values we treasure - Maryada, compassion, dignity, courage, truth and his pure love for Sita Maa (sic)." She added that Ram’s sacrifice to honour his father’s promise by living a life of penance in the forest shows the strength of these values.

She further said, "Bhai as Rama moves us because he doesn’t only look divine and graceful but because he radiates the strength of character that Ram Ji embodies. The innocence and purity in his eyes and nobility in his expression prove that nobody in present day and age can play Rama as beautifully as Bhai would have played it. Forever Cherished, Forever Unforgettable (sic)."

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020.

In 2024, Shweta released a video statement appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the CBI investigation into Sushant's death. She said the Prime Minister’s involvement would expedite the probe and bring relief to the "howling hearts" affected by the case.
