Why Esha Deol's bed is covered in teddy bears after Dharmendra's death
Esha Deol shared why her bed is filled with teddy bears after the death of her father Dharmendra, saying they help her feel closer to him.

Esha Deol has opened up about an emotional reason behind her bed being covered in teddy bears after the death of her father Dharmendra. The actor shared that the soft toys help her feel connected to him as she continues to cope with his absence. She spoke about how this small comfort has become a part of her everyday life while remembering him.
In an interview with The Times of India, Esha said, “I always called him my Teddy Bear, and today my bed is filled with teddy bears because it just reminds me of him. The loss never really leaves. You just learn to carry it. I carry him in my heart, and I carry his strength with me wherever I am now."
She further spoke about how his memory stays with her every single day, adding that his love and presence continue to guide her even after his death.
On choosing a favourite memory, Esha said it is impossible to pick just one. She shared, “It’s a lifetime. It’s 44 years of a daughter looking up to that one man, her father. Just to be able to hold his hand, hear his voice – I miss everything about him every single day, and I always will.”
Esha also reflected on a recent emotional moment when Hema Malini accepted the Padma Vibhushan on Dharmendra’s behalf. Seeing her mother receive the honour brought a mix of pride, gratitude and an overwhelming sense of loss, as it reminded the family of his absence at the ceremony.
While speaking about her father’s legacy, Esha said she believes he deserved greater recognition during his career, even though awards were never something he personally valued. She added that the love and admiration he received from audiences remained his true achievement.
Dharmendra died on November 24, 2025.
On the work front, Esha Deol was last seen in Tumko Meri Kasam and Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega. She is currently gearing up for the horror-comedy Ghunghat.
