Actor Yash recently addressed the mixed reactions to the visual effects in the upcoming film Ramayana, describing the project as a "work-in-progress." Speaking at CinemaCon 2026 in Los Angeles, where he presented the film, Yash expressed confidence in the final product.

In a viral clip circulating on social media, Yash discussed the VFX work, saying, "It's DNEG (the VFX company) on board. So the photo – realistic, the visuals that you are talking - it's still work in progress. I am sure it will be even better when we'll see the finished product. We are really making a product which is top-notch."

The KGF star also confirmed that Ramayana: Part I is slated for release during Diwali in the last week of October. "We are planning to release this year on Diwali which is in October last week," he said.

Yash was also in the news for his remarks on another upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. In an interview with Fandango, he described Toxic as 'layered,' indicating that it offers more depth than a typical action film.

Yash on Toxic beyond gangster drama

"Toxic is also a very ambitious film. For the first time, we have shot that film in English as well. So as a concept of the film, it's very layered. Once again, it's not a typical, action-gangster story. For face value, it would look like a gangster movie with a lot of action, but it has got deep psychology, and it has got very interesting aspects of human life you can resonate with," Yash explained.

He praised director Geetu Mohandas for crafting a film that explores psychological themes, adding, "And it's a very unique way to present a dark character, which is what I feel. It was very exciting... some of the best technicians - my director, Geetu Mohandas, has really given a new take on a gangster film and I enjoyed it. It's going to be a visual treat as well as something - which makes a huge impact on the audience's psychology as well."

At CinemaCon 2026, Yash was joined by producer Namit Malhotra to introduce Ramayana to an international audience, marking the film's second major promotional event following the release of the first look of Lord Rama earlier this month.

In Ramayana, Yash portrays Ravana, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as goddess Sita, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and enhanced by DNEG's VFX, is expected to be a major highlight of this year's Diwali celebrations.
