The Ice Age franchise is officially heading back to theatres. A teaser for the sixth instalment, Ice Age: Boiling Point, has been unveiled, bringing back fan-favourite characters Manny, Sid and Diego for another prehistoric adventure. The film marks the franchise's first theatrical outing since Ice Age: Collision Course in 2016.
The newly released teaser reunites the beloved herd for a fresh adventure packed with chaos, comedy and family-friendly fun. Alongside Manny, Sid and Diego, audiences will also see the return of Buckminster Wild, better known as Buck, and Ellie.
The teaser further features Crash, Eddie, Scrat and Baby Scrat, promising plenty of the slapstick humour and wild mishaps that have become synonymous with the franchise.
Directed by John Donkin, Ice Age: Boiling Point appears to stay true to the tone that has made the animated series a global favourite for over two decades.
The upcoming film will see Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Simon Pegg and Queen Latifah reprise their roles as the voices of Manny, Diego, Sid, Buck and Ellie, respectively.
Ice Age: Boiling Point was initially slated to arrive in theatres on December 18, 2026. The release date was later shifted to February 2027 after Avengers: Doomsday moved to the same weekend. The postponement was reportedly intended to avoid a box-office clash with both Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.
The previous film in the franchise, Ice Age: Collision Course, released in 2016 and followed Scrat's accidental space adventure that sent a massive asteroid hurtling towards Earth. The herd, joined by Buck, then raced against time to prevent a catastrophic impact. Directed by Michael Thurmeier, the film performed strongly in international markets.
Ice Age: Boiling Point is scheduled to release on February 5, 2027.
