They were drunk: Ex-club manager on Katy Perry-Ruby Rose sexual assault case
Former Australian nightclub manager commented on actor Ruby Rose's allegations against singer Katy Perry. He said both were drunk and described the decade-old event as a security nightmare with around 600 people present.

The former manager of Melbourne's Spice Market nightclub, now closed, has commented on allegations by actor Ruby Rose against pop star Katy Perry. Rose claimed that Perry sexually assaulted her at the venue over 15 years ago.
As investigations pick up pace into the allegations, the manager confirmed to the Herald Sun that both Rose and Perry were present that evening. However, he told the portal that he did not witness the alleged incident.
Ex-club manager on night of alleged incident
He recalled the two celebrities arriving together in 2010 and occupying a private section of the club. The club was packed with around 600 people, and Perry was reportedly mingling and dancing, making it difficult for him to be aware of any assault. “It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit,” the ex-manager said.
He added, “(Rose and Perry) were drunk; they weren’t paralytic or anything, just like any other person drinking at a nightclub.”
To avoid media attention, he said, they left through a back exit together.
Ruby Rose's allegations
Ruby recently went public with her sexual assault allegations against Katy Perry on social media. The actor mentioned she had previously shared the story in a different context and had recently filed a police report. She claimed to possess photographic evidence and mentioned witnesses who could support her accusation.
In her posts, Rose explained her prolonged silence, citing her youth and uncertainty about handling the situation. She also revealed that Perry had helped her secure a US visa, which influenced her decision to keep silent until now. Rose, now 40, expressed her gratitude for finally finding the courage to speak out about the alleged incident.
Katy Perry's response
A representative for Perry has denied these claims, calling them false and harmful. A statement to Rolling Stone read, “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies". It added that Rose has a history of making serious public allegations on social media that have been denied by the individuals named.
