Chris Hemsworth to Eva Mendes: These Hollywood stars' Instagram debut raised the heat in 2015

This year marked the entry of many celebrities to Instagram, thereby giving their fans a sneak-peek into their personal lives. We look at some of the celebs who made a 'superstar' entry on Instagram in 2015.

Eva Mendes 

The uber-hot Eva Mendes joined Instagram in March this year. The diva debuted with her childhood pic, setting the cute-o-meter reading pretty high. The 41-year-old actor shared a picture sporting a pink shirt with a red skirt and her favourite bandana. She posted this image to promote her clothing line and captioned it: "Taking to Instagram to keep you posted on my clothing line for @nyandcompany and CIRCA Beauty ( @realcircabeauty ), a cosmetics line I have coming out at Walgreens. I thought this picture might be a good way to start. 38 years later and still holding strong on the head wrap comeback. x (sic)"

Jason Statham 

The Transporter star made an entry on the photo-sharing platform in March this year. The first image he shared was of himself, standing stoically next to a giant-sized vehicle. And yes, he also made sure that fans got to know of his official account with this caption, "This is my first official post on Instagram. Sorry to those that has been following the string of phonies pretending to be me. From now on it's real. Cheers. (sic)"

Robert Downey Jr 

The Iron Man star joined Instagram in April this year and posted a picture with his Avengers co-stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jimmy Kimmel, all seated in a row on a couch backstage on the sets of the TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live. The 50-year-old actor captioned it, "Come get me, Instagram... (sic)"

Ryan Reynolds

The new Marvel superhero, whose Deadpool is all set for a release in 2016, joined Instagram as well as Facebook in May 2016. Reynolds posted a mid-air action shot from Deadpool on his account and captioned it, "Stuck the landing. With my mouth." Well, that's indeed called a superhero entry. Bang on!

Liam Hemsworth

In August, Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth aka Gale Hawthorne joined Instagram. He made a romantic debut with Miss Piggy, a puppet. In a weird yet hilarious manner, the 25-year-old actor posed with Miss Piggy from The Muppets.

The Dressmaker actor captioned the image, "Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry. #TheMuppets #misspiggy (sic)"

Chris Hemsworth

A few months after Liam's entry, his elder brother Chris Hemsworth also created an account on Instagram in October. The Thor actor chose an unusual pic to mark his entry on the photo-sharing platform. The 32-year-old actor posted a picture with a snake in the background and captioned it, "Hangin with the locals in my backyard? the real Jurassic Park! (sic)"

Justin Theroux

Jennifer Aniston's husband stepped into the world of Instagram on December 3 this year. The 44-year-old star shared his first selfie on Instagram and captioned it "#on". Well, If there were any doubts about the actor's popularity, they were all cleared when within a few hours of joining Instagram, Theroux reached 17,000 followers. Today, the actor has a total of 116k followers on Instagram. We can only guess the numbers when his wife Jennifer too decides to jump in!
