When Sivakarthikeyan made his debut as a naive boyfriend in Padniraj's Marina, which released in the year 2012, he was not even the hero of the film. Now, in 2019, Sivakarthikeyan is one of the leading stars of Tamil cinema. On his 34th birthday, here's a look at the journey of Siva from a stand-up comedian to a mass hero.

Sivakarthikeyan, an Engineering student from Trichy, reluctantly participated in the comedy reality show Kalaka Povadthu Yaru and won it. It was the beginning of a successful story.

Siva became an integral part of a popular Tamil TV channel. His witty sense of humour and comic timing made him a successful anchor. Sivakarthikeyan became a household name.

Director Pandiraj approached him for a role in his film Marina. Siva played a loverboy, who finds it hard to please his love interest (Oviya). The film well at the box office.

Dhanush's 3, directed by his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth, had Sivakarthikeyan as the friend of the protagonist. The comedy scenes of Dhanush and Siva were laugh riots.
