Drishyam's Ansiba Hassan accuses actor Tiny Tom of calling her jihadi, he reacts
Drishyam actor Ansiba Hassan has accused actor Tiny Tom of making defamatory and communal remarks, including allegedly calling her a "jihadi." Tiny Tom has strongly denied the claims, saying the allegations are based on hearsay.
Actor Ansiba Hassan, known for her role in Mohanlal’s Drishyam, has accused Tiny Tom of making defamatory and communal remarks, including allegedly calling her a “jihadi,” a term commonly used to describe an Islamic extremist or militant.
The allegations come shortly after Ansiba resigned from her position as Joint Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in February, citing personal reasons and work commitments at the time. She has since claimed that she faced repeated defamation and misinformation within the organisation.
She has also alleged that rumours were circulated linking her to forced religious conversion involving a colleague’s driver.
Ansiba further said that although her resignation from AMMA cited personal and professional reasons, she had earlier raised her concerns with the organisation’s leadership.
She also claimed that an executive committee member filed a false police complaint against her, which caused her emotional distress and made her feel unsupported.
TINY TOM RESPONDS
Denying all allegations, Tiny Tom said:
“I can never make any communal allegations as my friends are all Muslims. When stage shows happen, I am in-charge of stage events so naturally sometimes we yell at each other which is common among friends. I have not called her any names. How can I call her jihadi and all?”
He added that the claims appear to be based on hearsay and not direct experience, and said that Ansiba should have approached authorities if she had heard such remarks firsthand.
Tom also said that the resignation letter was submitted on February 21 and that AMMA’s general secretary had asked her not to resign until the general body meeting.
He further said the issue was not formally escalated in later discussions and that Ansiba later cited work commitments as the reason for her resignation.
