Malayalam actor Mohanlal shared an unexpected crossover moment on social media when he posted a picture with the American DJ duo, The Chainsmokers, on Saturday. The post came a few hours after the duo shared their photo with the actor ahead of their show in Dallas. The exchange quickly drew attention online.
In two pictures featured in Mohanlal's post, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers are dressed in white, while Mohanlal is wearing a printed shirt over a white T-shirt with blue denims.

Sharing the image on X, the actor described it as "a beautiful moment where cinema meets the sound of music" in Dallas. The post also featured his wife, Suchitra.
The Chainsmokers, in their post, said they had made a new friend before their show and tagged Mohanlal.
Who are The Chainsmokers?
The Chainsmokers are made up of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart. The DJ and production duo rose to fame with their 2014 track #Selfie. They later found wider chart success with songs such as Closer, Don’t Let Me Down and Something Just Like This. They are known for combining pop and electronic dance music and for working with several international artists. The duo has won major awards, including a Grammy.
Mohanlal’s upcoming films
The meeting with The Chainsmokers comes even as Mohanlal prepares for his next mega release, Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan.
The film brings Mohanlal together with Mammootty on the big screen after a hiatus. The story follows a retired JAG officer, played by Mammootty, who is wrongly framed for espionage. As he sets out on a covert mission to clear his name and protect the country, Mohanlal appears as a battle-hardened armed forces operative joining the mission.
Patriot also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, Revathi, Rajiv Menon and Prakash Belawadi in key roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1.
Mohanlal also has Drishyam 3 in the pipeline. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the crime thriller is produced by Antony Perumbavoor. The film also stars Meena, Anshiba Hassan and Esther Anil, along with Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Saikumar and Siddique. It is scheduled to release in theatres on May 22.
