Samyuktha keen to reunite with Dhanush after Vaathi: He saves it all for camera

Actor Samyuktha, who has an exciting line-up of films in 2026, opened up about the possibility of reuniting with her Vaathi co-star Dhanush. The actor shared what makes collaborating with him such a compelling experience.

Vaathi, a period action drama directed by Venky Atluri, released in 2023 and went on to emerge as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year.

Samyuktha on wanting to reunite with Dhanush

In a candid conversation with India Today, Samyuktha was asked to name one actor she would like to reunite with. Initially choosing the safe route, she said, “I would like to work with all the Malayalam actors I’ve worked with. Also, Dhanush sir, I would like to work with him again,” she admitted.

‘You know it’s a good script when he chooses it’

Explaining her choice, Samyuktha highlighted not just Dhanush’s acting abilities but also his script sense. “Great actor. And when he selects a script, you know it’s a good script,” she said.

On their previous collaboration

Looking back at their collaboration in Vaathi, she described the experience as both smooth and memorable. “It was great. Amazingly well,” she shared. I mean, I’m sure you would have watched it. The energy with him is very different. He is a man of few words, a voracious reader. He stays in his space,” she said.

She further added that his quiet demeanour off-camera sharply contrasts with his intensity on-screen. “It’s as if he saves it all for that one moment in front of the camera. When the director says ‘action,’ he gives it all,” Samyuktha noted.

Samyuktha made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Popcorn (2016). She went on to appear in commercially successful films such as Kalki (2019), Edakkad Battalion 06 (2019), Bheemla Nayak (2022), Kaduva (2022), Bimbisara (2022), Gaalipata 2 (2022), Vaathi (2023) and Virupaksha (2023). She was last seen in the 2025 films Akhanda 2: Thaandavam and Nari Nari Naduma Murari.
