The love is always louder. With these five words, actor Trisha shut down internet trolls who had written disparaging social media posts about her appearance at fellow actor, friend and now Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's swearing-in ceremony on Sunday.

"The love is always louder," the 43-year-old actor wrote on Instagram, appending the caption with a blue heart emoji and posting a bunch of photos of her viral blue-saree look from the oath ceremony.

Trisha's post came a day after many online questioned her presence at the grand Chennai event. Others, meanwhile, pointed to the absence of Vijay's estranged wife Sankgeetha and their two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha. The discussion comes amid Vijay's divorce proceedings and intense speculation surrounding his association with Trisha.

Trisha walked into the oath ceremony on Sunday, looking resplendent in a teal Kanjeevaram saree from Pothys, paired with a beige embroidered blouse featuring gold accents. She completed her look with a diamond and ruby choker with matching earrings, hair tucked in a neat bun with malli poo (jasmine flowers). For the event, she was styled by Eka Lakhani and Harshene Ravichandar.

The actor was seen warmly hugging Vijay's family members before turning to the crowd and waving to loud cheers. She then walked up to Vijay's mother and two shared a hug. Trisha was later seen clapping from the front row as Vijay took oath as Chief Minister.

Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) registered a landslide victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections by securing 108 seats. With this historic win, TVK ended the Dravidian rule by DMK and AIADMK in the state that had lasted since the 60s.

Trisha has backed Vijay for years and even declared her support on the day of the counting of votes. On May 4, Trisha visited the Tirupati temple for an early morning darshan as she celebrated her 43rd birthday. Upon returning, she visited Vijay's Neelangarai home in Chennai as results showed TVK inching towards becoming the single largest party.

Trisha and Vijay are one of the hit pairs in contemporary Tamil cinema, having shared the screen in five films. However, in recent times, their relationship has made headlines after Vijay's wife, Sankgeetha, filed a divorce petition seeking to end their 27-year marriage.

In her petition, Sankgeetha accused Vijay of having an extramarital relationship with a female actor, and alleged that she faced "persistent mental cruelty, neglect and desertion".

Days after the divorce petition, Trisha and Vijay made a public appearance at a wedding in Chennai, which ignited rumours about their relationship. However, Vijay and Trisha have remained silent regarding the speculations.

Trisha's presence at the oath-taking ceremony on May 10, meanwhile, remains talk of the town.
