Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika Mandanna airport appearance sparks buzz over his pendant

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have drawn attention online after they were seen together at an airport. A video shared by a paparazzi account on Instagram showed the couple walking out of the airport and heading towards their car. While the sighting itself got fans talking, several viewers focused on Vijay’s chain, which appeared to have a pendant with the letter ‘R’.

The airport video surfaced months after Vijay and Rashmika shared their wedding pictures in February this year, which quickly spread online. The couple is also set to reunite on screen in Ranabaali, their first film together after marriage and their third collaboration overall.

Airport sighting draws attention

In the clip, Vijay was seen in a beige T-shirt and dark trousers, while Rashmika walked beside him as they made their way out of the airport. Fans soon noticed the pendant around his neck and linked the letter ‘R’ to Rashmika Mandanna. After the video was posted, it began circulating widely on social media.

From co-stars to partners

Vijay and Rashmika first worked together in Geetha Govindam. The romantic drama emerged as a major box-office success, and their pairing was widely noticed by audiences. They later shared screen space again in Dear Comrade, which further strengthened their popularity as an on-screen pair.

For years, the two were the subject of dating rumours, though they did not publicly confirm the relationship at the time. Fans often pointed to their holidays together and photographs posted from similar locations. Even then, both continued to maintain that they were close friends.

Wedding and reception

This year, Vijay and Rashmika got married on February 26 in Udaipur in what was described as an intimate yet grand ceremony. Their wedding photographs soon went viral. After the wedding, they hosted a reception in Hyderabad that was attended by several film personalities, including Ram Charan, Nani, Karan Johar, Kriti Sanon and Allu Arjun. The couple also met fans and distributed sweets.

Films ahead

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is set between 1854 and 1878. The makers have said the story is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that were ‘omitted’ from mainstream history books. In an official note, the film was described as a cinematic reconstruction of an era, built from multiple real accounts, oral histories and suppressed records. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11.

Vijay has also recently started work on VDxShouryuv, which was launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on April 20. Nani attended the event and was seen interacting with Vijay during the rituals. Directed by Shouryuv, the film has already generated attention through its announcement poster and the lyric video, That’s a Roar. Its release date and other details are yet to be announced.

Rashmika, on the other hand, will be seen in the upcoming film Cocktail 2. Also starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, the film is set to release on June 19.
