Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has decided to retain the Bhabanipur assembly constituency while vacating the Nandigram seat.
US president Donald Trump has been impeached by the US senate for inciting the Capitol riots on Jan 6. This makes him the only US President to be impeached twice. For his recent impeachment, he has been charged for inciting a riot in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 US elections. The House voted 232-197 to impeach Trump. 10 Republicans congressmen also joined the Democrats to vote against Trump citing him as ‘dangerous if unchecked’ before president-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20. Following the proceedings, Trump released a video condemning the violence at Capitol Hill. Interestingly he made no mention of his impeachment. Trump was impeached on Dec 18, 2019, by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstructing Congress. Let me tell you that despite a second impeachment, Trump could still seek and hold federal office in the future, including the presidency in 2024.
