Another mutant found in UK: Is India ready for more contagious Covid strain?

A week after a new mutation of COVID-19 virus strain was found, another mutant has emerged in the UK. And even two new cases of the second new strain have been detected. This new variant is known as 501.V2 and linked to South Africa. According to initial reports, this strain is even more infectious than the UK strain.

Meanwhile, around 22 passengers who returned to India from the UK have tested positive for the virus. Their samples have now been sent for further tests.

Although the government has denied reports that some Covid positive passengers from UK have been identified with the new contagious strain. But the question is, is India ready for the more contagious strain? Watch as experts discuss the dos and donts.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders.
