Bollywood drug probe: Trouble mounts for Karan Johar; Deepika to be questioned on Saturday

The Narcotics Control Bureau is likely to investigate Karan Johar's alleged drug party, which was held in 2019. The party was attended by the who's who of Bollywood, including actors like Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora, among others. The celebs can be summoned by the NCB soon.

Earlier, the NCB revealed that Deepika Padukone was the admin of a WhatsApp group for drug chat. The actress's manager, Karishma Prakash, and Jaya Saha were also part of the group. Karishma was grilled by the NCB today. Deepika has been called in for interrogation tomorrow.

Video: Woman loses leg after out-of-control Thar SUV rams her scooter in Mathura

A 23-year-old woman lost her leg after a speeding Thar SUV rammed into her scooter in Mathura's Chandanvan Colony on Saturday evening, with the driver fleeing the scene immediately after. The crash was captured on CCTV cameras in the area. Khushbu Singh was sitting on her parked scooter outside her home at around 5 PM when the SUV struck the vehicle and overturned it. Her brother Rajkumar, 20, who was standing beside her, sustained a shoulder injury. Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors at the hospital were forced to amputate Khushbu's right leg. She also sustained serious injuries to her left leg and head. Police arrived at the scene, seized the damaged SUV and scooter, and transported them to the police station. Police official Shailendra Singh said the accused driver has been identified and a manhunt is underway.

Highlighting the national ruling party's focus on women's empowerment, the Prime Minister outlined several financial promises, including thirty-six thousand rupees annually under the Matrushakti Bharosa Card, twenty-one thousand rupees for pregnant women, and fifty thousand rupees for daughters' education. Furthermore, the Prime Minister accused the state government of breaking laws to benefit infiltrators and attempting to provide reservations based on religion, thereby undermining the Constitution.

Caught on CCTV: Dumper rams vehicles, kills woman riding scooter in Nashik

A dumper truck in Nashik rammed into multiple vehicles. The incident occurred around 1 PM on Saturday, April 18. Several four-wheelers and two-wheelers were badly damaged in the collision. The woman riding a two-wheeler died on the spot. Several others were injured and have been admitted to a nearby private hospital for treatment. The police have taken the dumper driver into custody and further investigation is underway.
