Violence mars Andhra Pradesh elections, TDP leader killed; Sporadic violence reported from Bengal; more

A Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leader was killed in clashes in Andhra Pradesh as violence marred polling for simultaneous elections to the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats on Thursday.

TDP leader Chintha Bhaskar Reddy succumbed to his injuries after he was left severely injured in clashes between TDP and YSRCP workers.

The polling ended at 6pm but the voters who were standing in queues were allowed to cast their votes.
