Opposition agrees to form all-party interim government in Sri Lanka amid protests

Amid the ongoing protests demanding the resignation of the president and the prime minister, the opposition parties in Sri Lanka agreed to form an all-party interim government. The decision was announced after top leaders of the opposition parties held a meeting on Sunday.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will step down from his position on July 13. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also announced he will resign from his position on Saturday.

An all-party government will be formed after the two top officials resign from their posts.
