Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and said under his leadership any threats of sanctions would boomerang.
Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi received the National Award for Best Actress on her behalf from President Ram Nath Kovind at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi last evening. The late actress won the award posthumously for her performance in Ravi Udyawar's revenge-thriller Mom.
Sridevi passed away in February this year due to accidental drowning in the bathtub, weeks before the National Award winners were announced. After her win, her family announced in a statement that they were "overjoyed" at the honour.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh talked about his upcoming film, Simmba, at an event. "Simmba is my first collaboration with Rohit Shetty which I know people are really excited about and me more than anyone to be diving into the masala genre with the king of the genre. It is an incredible opportunity that I am extremely excited to be commencing principal shooting in about a month's time. I will start prep for that film from tomorrow," he said.
