Karnataka crisis: Can JDS-Congress salvage the alliance government?

The Karnataka political crisis has intensified after a rebel Congress MLA affirmed that all the dissenting MLAs are firm on their resignation. The rebel MLAs are currently holed up in a Mumbai hotel. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara called a breakfast meeting of all the ministers belonging to Congress party, to discuss the present political developments and the fallout.

With the exit of 13 MLAs, the total strength of Karnataka assembly now stands at 211. BJP, with 105 seats in the state's assembly may use this opportunity to swing back to power.
